BRUSSELS (QHA) -

This morning, representatives of the International Partnership for Human Rights (IPHR) held a rally in support of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov in Brussels, the organizers informed KrymSOS.

The IPHR representatives demanded the immediate release of Umerov.

“We are deeply outraged by the actions of the Crimean "authorities" against Ilmi Umerov. Punitive psychiatry is known Soviet method of dealing with dissent that can be equated to tortures and inhuman treatment in the modern world. Umerov must be released immediately!” the project manager and activist Simon Papuashvili stated.

Similar actions in support of Ilmi Umerov will be held in Warsaw and Kyiv today.
