A rally in support of Nadezhda Savchenko, a Ukrainian air force pilot and MP, was held in Helsinki on March 6, 2016, reports yle.fi.
Around 30 people carrying Ukrainian symbols and placards urging to free Savchenko gathered near the fountain. According to Nikolay Kosotyuk, the rally’s organizer, the EU and Finland are not doing enough to get Nadezhda out of prison. He hopes EU countries will be more active in this respect by introducing tougher sanctions against Russia.
It was reported earlier that Savchenko went on a waterless hunger strike after a judge of Russia’s Donetsk court prevented her from delivering a final speech.
