SIMFEROPOL / AQMESCIT (QHA) -

Public movement "Crimean Idea" intends to expand the national movement in the annexed peninsula.

Reportedly, for this purpose, the movement members intend to traverse the entire peninsula and hold meetings in the regions.

According to activists, in the conditions of the ban imposed on the activities of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people in Crimea, "the Crimean Tatar national movement should be revitalized, to not allow external forces change democratic and freedom-loving beliefs of the Crimean Tatar people."

According to Human Rights Defender Abdureshit Dzhepparov, passivity of the majority of the Crimean Tatar people cannot be allowed.

“There are a lot of activists among the Crimean Tatars in the modern Crimea, but at the same time passivity from the majority of the Crimean Tatar people cannot be allowed. Therefore, the actual task of the "Crimean Idea" is to intensify the activities of the Crimean Tatar national movement, and the goal is to revive it to the previous level, when we also had to fight for our rights and freedoms," said the human rights activist.

Activist Roland Osmanov stated that "Crimean Idea" will travel around and hold meetings in the field.

“We will gather people at homes, like in our recent history. I remember how in my parents' house regular gatherings of motorists were held and people were discussing the pressing issues. Now this practice needs to be revived, as well as the Crimean Tatar national movement in our time - a period of harsh challenges to the entire Crimean Tatar people in the Crimea,” Osmanov said.

Previously, QHA reported that activists from different regions of the annexed Crimea claimed that the new public organization "Crimean Idea" was being created.

A corresponding decision was made on May 27 at a meeting in Bilohirsk.
