AQMESCŞT/SIMFEROPOL (QHA) - Crimean Tatar newspaper Qırım that is financed from the Ukraine’s national budget received none of kopek this year. Reporters are without salaries, debts are not paid and the newspaper is under threat of closure. This is written by the 1st Vice-Chairman of the Majlis of Crimean Tatar nation Refat Çubar in Facebook.
The editor-in-chief of the Qırım Dr. Bekir Mahmut confirmed this information for QHA. “Generally speaking, a state of the newspaper’s affairs is hard. Funds of the Crimean budget are not allocated too”, Dr. B. Mahmut said.
The Qırım’s editor-in-chief had applied to the key spending unit – the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Natalia Korolevska but she redirected this appeal to the republican committee of ARC on information.
The republican committee in its Deputy Head Hayder Emirov stressed “the newspaper was founded by the employees of the newspaper and the editorial staff must break even”.
Mr. Çubar considers that suffice it the ministry of social policy of Ukraine to finance the appropriate item of the Ukraine’s national budget in order to rescue the Crimean Tatar newspaper Qırım.
The Majlis vice-chairman stressed the official must understand the state should support the ethnic media that can not be break-even due to objective reasons.
İt would be noted that know Crimean Tatar businessman, owner of the ATR Channel, Lenur İslâm was examining a question to buy the Qırım newspaper half a year back. But it ended nothing there.
