DOHA (QHA) -

The leading Qatari Arabic-language newspaper “Al-Shark” posted the publication on June 21 entitled "Muslims of Ukraine consider Ramadan an outstanding religious event" dedicated to the activities of Muslims in Ukraine, and to the problem of Muslims rights violation in the occupied Crimea, the press service of the Ukrainian Embassy in Qatar reports.

According to Sheikh Rustum the Head of the Al-Khair Islamic center in Odesa, the number of Muslims in the occupied Crimea is about 1.5 million people. And all of them suffer from Russian occupation authorities that violate and restrict their rights and freedoms, including the right to belief.

According to Rustum about 70 thousand Muslims live in Odesa, and it is clear that the Ukrainian society tolerates representatives of other religions and cultures in the case of Odesa Islamic center "Al-Khair".

Sheikh Rustum also stressed that other Muslim centers work in Ukraine and they spread moderate, non-political Islam. Al-Masar Center, operating under the auspices of Al-Raid all-Ukrainian Muslim religious association, is one organization, according to Sheikh Rustum.

Earlier QHA reported that the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Crimea with the support of Diyanet of Turkey had held a collective Iftar in the city of Melitopol.
