Pro-Russian Crimean Tatar TV channel to be opened in Moscow

September 2, 2015. Pro-govement Crimean Tatar TV channel Millet, which started the test broadcasting in Crimea on September 1, 2015, will open its bureau in Moscow, Seyran Mambetov, General Director of Public Crimean Tatar TV and Radio Company, has said at the press conference in Simferopol today.

“We are already opening our bureau in Moscow and launching a unique project with involving Natalia Nurmukhamedova, a well-known Uzbek and Russian actress, as an anchor,” Seyran Mambetov said.

According to him, Natalia Nurmukhamedova will host the program with the Russian stars and the first shooting will start in a week.

It should be mentioned that the Crimean Tatar ATR TV channel, Lyale TV channel, Meydan radio, Avdet newspaper and QHA news agency went off air on April 1, 2015. The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor) had not re-registered these media outlets under various excuses and documents submitted for re-registration were ones and again returned to ATR TV channel.

The Public Crimean Tatar TV and Radio Company, comprised of Millet TV channel and Vatan Sedasy radio station, was established by the decision of the occupation authorities on June 9, 2015. A total of RUB 177 from Federal budget had been allocated for providing the said media outlets with equipment.
