During the parade, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated on the Independence Day Ukrainian patriots in the Crimea and Donbas, reported a QHA correspondent.

We love you, we remember you, and are fighting hard for your return to Ukraine. I want to stress - we do it by political and diplomatic means. The Kremlin takes the Ukrainian Donbas as a theater for military operations, and the inhabitants of the region - as cannon fodder to satisfy its imperial ambitions. For Ukraine, you are the nearest and the dearest, you have been temporarily separated from the Ukrainian family, but we will reunite and meet at the banquet table that is for sure, Poroshenko said.

Today, Kiev hosts a parade to the 25th anniversary of Ukraine's independence. Watch livestream on QHA site.
