President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has congratulated Ukrainian Muslims on Eid al-Adha. The text of congratulations has been published on the official website of the President.

 Dear compatriots!

Take sincere congratulations on the occasion of Eid al-Adha - the feast, which Muslims regard as a symbol of mercy, charity and love for neighbors.

Today we are defending the independence and territorial integrity of our country, we are actively developing European Ukraine. Our goals can be successful only in the unity - the eternal values of the Ukrainian people, carried through the centuries. I am convinced that only together we are a great, invincible strength.

Let your life be full of hope, the friendly warmth and new achievements for the sake of Ukraine.

I wish you good health, happiness and family comfort.

The Sacrifice Feast, or Eid al-Adha, is the Islamic holiday celebrated 70 days after the feast of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan and is one of the two biggest Muslim holidays. Eid al-Adha is the official festive day in Muslim countries.

As QHA reported earlier, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Ilmi Umerov said that occupation authorities prohibited to hold celebrations dedicated to the Eid al-Adha in a mosque in the city of Bakhchisaray.
