KYIV (QHA) -

The President of Ukraine congratulated Muslims and Crimean Tatars on the holiday Eid al-Fitr and the Day of the Crimean Tatar Flag, which are this year celebrated on the same day - June 26, the presidential press service reports.
Poroshenko recalled that the fast in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan ended with Eid al-Fitr.

“It symbolizes devotion to family values, sensitivity to the needy and destitute, mercy and reconciliation - these unchanging virtues unite people who keep peace and harmony.”

Separately, the President recalled that the Crimean Tatar flag has become an inalienable symbol of the unity and centuries-old struggle of the Crimean Tatars for their freedom.

“Life force and the dream of a peaceful, free and rich future are sealed in combination of the blue and golden colors of this flag, just like in the blue and yellow colors of the national flag of Ukraine. The common homeland, the common goal - the return of the Crimea temporarily annexed by the enemy – has even more closely related the Ukrainians and the Crimean Tatars.”

Poroshenko believes that despite the difficulties, soon both flags will be proudly fluttering in the free Ukrainian Crimea.
