Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz will stay in custody until April 8, 2017, according to Twitter of his lawyer Nikolai Polozov.
“Crimean judges extended the detention period of Ahtem Chiygoz for 3 months from 01/08/17 till 04/08/17,” he wrote.
Ahtem Chiygoz was detained by the occupying police officers and charged with rioting on February 26, 2014 in Simferopol.
Earlier QHA reported that during the 44th hearing on the case of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz the first "victim" testified against him. It appeared to be a Crimean Tatar Eyvaz Umerov. He became the first of the questioned 77 victims and 48 witnesses for the prosecution who testified against Chiygoz, pointing out his action.
