KYIV (QHA) -

Six Bakhchysarai activists detained by Russian security forces on October 11, are accused of participating in the organization Hizb ut-Tahrir because of a conversation in a local mosque that was recorded and handed over to the FSB, the lawyer Emil Kurbedinov informed QHA.

According to him, almost all religious institutions in the Crimea today are under surveillance.

“Everything is stuffed with cameras and bugged. Thus, the last guys detained, were recorded in the mosque. They discussed something there, it was recorded, handed over to the FSB-controlled expert institutions, who said they were terrorists. At any moment, the kitchen conversation will appear in a criminal case," he said.

In this situation, even their native language can not save the Crimean Tatars, the lawyer notes. There is even a risk of incorrect translation of the words said, which has already happened in the case of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov.

It is also noteworthy that the Muftiate under the leadership of Emirali Ablaev, who is collaborating with the occupation authorities, is contributing to the punitive and supervisory system of the FSB, and becoming an instrument for controlling Muslims in the occupied Crimea.

“I know about the cases when they came to the people respected in certain communities, we call them mullakayas, and told them that they have no right to conduct religious rituals if they are not part of the Muftiate, even at a funeral, otherwise the FSB will come. It comes to such a marasmus. We have some more or less free platforms for dua (prayer services, - ed.) where people can talk on any topics. And now Muftiate people are trying to infiltrate even there, to those tables. Everyone understands that it is better not to talk much in front of them," he said.

Earlier, QHA reported that in the morning of October 11, FSB in the occupied Crimea searched several homes of Crimean Tatar activists Suleyman Asanov (owner of Salachyk Café), Seyran Saliev (activist, who was searched for the third time), Timur Ibragimov, Server Zekerjayev, Memet Belyalov and Ernest Ametov.

Six Crimean Tatars are charged with "a crime against the basics of Russia's national security, constitutional order and territorial integrity." Suleyman Asanov is accused of organizing the cell of organisation "Hizb ut-Tahrir". The remaining 5 detainees in Bakhchysarai are accused for "participation in terrorist activities".

All the detained are active participants of the public organization "Crimean solidarity".

On October 12, the Kyiv District Court of Simferopol elected a punitive measure for them in the form of two months of arrest
