Patriarch Filaret: Crimea lives worse under Russia

His Holiness Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine is sure that Crimean residents lived much better prior to Russia’s annexation of the peninsula.

Following Russia’s annexation of the peninsula, the Crimean residents impoverished and began to live worse, April, 3 said the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kiev Patriarchate Filaret in an interview with Apostrophe.

- God has allowed the aggressor to Crimea and now people are living much worse than they lived under Ukraine’s rule, said Filaret.

The Patriarch is sure the sin cannot go unpunished, and the aggressor will pay for it soon.

- God has allowed Russia to Donbas, where the aggressor killed and continues killing people. The whole world is witnessing how Russia deploys weapons in Ukraine to kill people. Hails, Tornadoes, Hurricanes. The Lord will punish this aggressor as He punished Germany. Hitler shot himself, Germany was divided and suffered after the Second World War, suffered for a long time, Patriarch Filaret said in an interview.

Following the annexation of Crimea, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kiev Patriarchate suffers persecution in Crimea. The Russian law enforcement agencies in Crimea do not investigate and ignore the crimes committed against the members of the UOC-KP on the peninsula.
