New OSCE Chairman and Foreign Minister of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier called for truce extension in the Donbas, the OSCE's press service reports.
"I am pleased that, according to the observations of the OSCE, the ceasefire in the east of Ukraine has once again been maintained for a few days and no more serious incidents have occurred in the conflict zones. The current situation gives us hope that the warring parties will also take other difficult steps that still need to be taken to fully implement the Minsk agreements, find constructive solutions aimed at helping to overcome the crisis and defuse the conflict in the long term," said Steinmeier.
The Head of the German Foreign Ministry also said he would not weaken efforts to mediate between Russia and Ukraine in 'Normandy format.'
