Oraza, Qurban bayrams declared official holidays in Crimea

Muslim Qurban and Oraza holidays declared official holidays in Crimea.

The decision was made at the session of Crimean Parliament on June 25, with 72 MPs voted in favor.

Moreover, Orthodox Easter and Trinity were also declared official holidays. Crimea’s Day will be celebrated on 11 of 16 May.

Note: Oraza Bayram is one of the two most important religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide that marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting.

Qurban Bayram, meaning "Festival of the sacrifice" is the second of two religious holidays celebrated by Muslims worldwide each year. It honors the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his young first-born son Ishmael (Ismail) a as an act of submission to God's command, before God then intervened to provide Abraham with a lamb to sacrifice instead.
