Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimean "government" Georgy Muradov said that the trip to Ukraine to obtain a biometric passport, necessary for visa-free travelling to the countries of the European Union, would be "a betrayal of the Russian Crimea ideas."
According to the official, this applies not only to the Crimeans, but also to the inhabitants of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk republics, who can also receive biometric passports on condition that Ukrainian passports are preserved.
At the same time, Muradov is convinced that the opportunity to obtain a biometric passport in Ukraine is a "provocation and a trap" for Crimeans by the Ukrainian authorities. The official warns Ukrainian citizens residing in the temporarily occupied Crimea, from trips to the territory of the mainland Ukraine, because there, he said, "half will be cleansed and arrested."
Earlier, QHA informed that after the visa-free regime with the EU entered into force in Ukraine, the Ukrainian passport has risen in the rating of the world's passports by the 30th position. At the moment, citizens of Ukraine can visit of 119 countries in Europe, Asia and Latin America without registration of visas.
