BALAKLIIA (QHA) -

As a result of the explosions caused by the fire in ammunition depots, five private houses were destroyed, 243  residential and non-residential buildings were damaged, according to the report of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Regional Development, Housing and Communal Services Gennady Zubko.

“The commission inspection of buildings continues. Five destroyed private houses were discovered. 243 buildings were damaged to varying degrees, including 117 apartment buildings, 87 private houses, 12 social facilities, 22 infrastructure and industry facilities. An assessment is made regarding the amount of damage and destruction of these buildings," Zubko wrote.

According to the Vice-Premier, construction materials (wrap, slate, nails, bricks and wood products) are provided to the population for the initial repair of damaged buildings.

Reportedly, works to restore the energy supply and gas supply of Balakliia and the district are continued as well.

Earlier QHA reported that on March 23, at 2:45, an explosion occurred at several storage sites for rocket and artillery weapons (tank and artillery shells 125 and 152 mm) near the city of Balakliia in the Kharkiv region, and a fire resulted in detonation of ammunition.

March 24, the Head of Emergency State Service of Ukraine Nikolai Chechetkin said that the day before, a body of an elderly woman was found in the disaster area:

At the moment, the fire in Balakliia has been completely eliminated, and work is underway to restore the infrastructure.
