No Ukrainian classes to be taught in Crimea this year

“There is currently no information available on whether Ukrainian classes will get taught at Crimean schools this year”, said Natalya Goncharova, Minister of Education and Science of Crimea, at a press conference.

According to her, a trend can now be observed whereby Crimean students are getting taught increasingly fewer subjects in Ukrainian, ‘which is why no Ukrainian classes will get taught this year’.

“However, Ukrainian will still be taught as an optional subject at a number of schools,” said Goncharova.
