The management of the Simferopol remand center, controlled by the Kremlin, conducted a search in the cell of Ukrainian political prisoner Volodymyr Balukh, the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Akhtem Chiygoz reported.

He noted that Balukh was placed in a narrow cell as a so-called preventive measure.

“The other day, Volodymyr had another search. At night, the head of the prison personally conducted a search. Then he was placed in a "glass" (a narrow chamber in which one can only stand or sit) as a preventive measure. I wish he did not bring his condition to critical," he said.

Earlier in the occupied Crimea on Sunday, June 10, Volodymyr Balukh was kept in a narrow cell for two hours, a fingerprint from the right hand was taken from the political prisoner without any explanation.

Previously, Balukh declared an indefinite hunger strike, protesting against the verdict of the court, which sentenced him to 3 years and 7 months of imprisonment in a civil position. Volodymyr Balukh will serve time in the colony-settlement. The Ukrainian activist was taken into custody in the courthouse.
