On October 22, 2015, the Antonov plane-making factory launched a poll to pick the best name for its newest AN-178 plane. In their turn, the Mejlis and Ukraine’s Ministry for Information Policy have urged the plane-maker to name the plane the Amet-KHAN-178.
“We have suggested that the Antonov plane-making factory name the AN-178 plane after Amet-Khan Sultan, a hero of the Crimean Tatar people, said Emine Jeppar, Advisor to Information Policy Minister for Crimea’s Information Policy.
Anyone can vote for the name by visiting the poll’s page on Facebook and clicking the like button.
The results of the poll will be announced on December 19.
