A new mosque opened its doors in Ohotnikovo village of Saki district of Crimea. Symbolically, the Muslim mosque is located right next to the local Orthodox church, which was built shortly before the mosque, informs press service of the Committee of Muslims of Crimea.

The mosque was built with the support of the All-Ukrainian association of public organizations “Alraid”, the Committee of Muslims of Crimea, Saki district Mejlis and local Muslim community. The main sponsor of the construction became “Bait az-Zakat” charitable organization.

The event began with the prayer, read out by Mufti of Muslims of Crimea Emirali Ablayev. In his speech, the Mufti thanked everyone who participated in the construction: sponsors, officials, local residents, and noted that this is a rare example when the mosque is located next to the church. He added that such examples contribute to strengthening inter-ethnic and inter-religious peace in Crimea.
