The son of people’s deputy of Ukraine and ex-head of Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Jemilev, Hayser is recognized mentally healthy. This was said by Mustafa Jemilev in an interview to Focus.ua.
“My son is recognized mentally healthy and I am happy about it. Once, he was treated for a long time in a mental clinic of a Catholic center in Istanbul, afterwards he was on medication for five years. Now, the mental expertise found him mentally healthy. At present, there are no reasons to state that he committed an intentional murder; the victim was a friend of our family. But they are trying to prove that the murder was intentional, thus aiming to put pressure on me,” said Jemilev.
Jemilev explained that thus, he is being under the political pressure.
“But I have principles which I will not break in any case….Under no circumstances I will allow anyone to put pressure on me, including because of family issues,” said ex-head of Mejlis.
As reported, in May, 32-year old Hayser Jemilev killed a man, presumably as a result of a careless handling of a registered gun belonging to his father. The victim was a 43-year old Fevzi Edemov, who was a close friend of Jemilevs family.
After forensic psychiatric examination conducted by local doctors didn’t bring results, Simferopol Court took a decision to send Hayser Jemilev to Kyiv for mental health re-examination.
In September, Simferopol Court extended the detention for Hayser for another 60 days.
