NEW YORK (QHA) -

MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Presidential Commissioner on affairs of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Jemilev attended the annual commemoration of HOLODOMOR, the artificial famine of 1932-1933 inflicted by Stalin, held at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City on Sunday, November 12, 2016.

Opening introductions were made by Andry Futey, the newly elected President of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America. His Eminence Antony of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church paid tribute to the victims of Holodomor followed by H.E. Ambassador Valeriy Chaly to the Ukrainian Embassy in DC honored MP Mustafa Jemilev's presence among the honoured guests which included Senator Chuck Schumer of New York State with H.E. Volodymyr Yelchenko, Ambassador to the Permanent Mission of Ukraine to the United Nations, who underlined Ukraine's upcoming resolution for adoption at the United Nations on Human Rights pertaining to the massive violations both in Crimea and Donbas by the Russian Federation.

MP Mustafa Jemilev's Crimean Tatar delegation at the HOLODOMOR commemoration was with Ayla Bakkalli, US Representative of the Crimean Tatar Mejlis, Executive Member of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars and Talyat Umerov.
