On the initiative of the Platform of Crimean Tatar Organizations in Turkey, today, May 13 at 13:00 at Anadolu Square in Ankara, a mourning rally began for the 73rd anniversary of the deportation of the Crimean Tatars on May 18, 1944.

13:00. The portraits of a Crimean Tatar educator and politician Ismail Gasprinsky are put the main stage of the rally, as well as the slogan "Millet, Vatan, Kyrym" [Nation, Homeland, Crimea] and the national symbols of the Crimean Tatar people - tarak-tamga. The participants of the rally hold flags of the Crimean Tatar people and various posters.


In connection with the rally, traffic in the area of the square was blocked.

13:45. The funeral rally for the 73rd anniversary of the Deportation began with an anthem and a minute of silence for the victims of the events of 1944, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and his comrades in arms.
