More than half a million children impacted by conflict in Donbas

More than a third of these children need psychological care and social support.

580,000 children, living in Donbas, suffered from combat operations, reads a statement by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

According to the Fund, more than a third of these children need psychological and social support.

- Two years of violence, shelling and fear have left an indelible mark on thousands of children in Eastern Ukraine. We must get access to these children and meet their physical and psychological needs, said Giovanna Barberis, UNICEF Representative in Ukraine.

According to her, parties to the conflict must ensure a safe movement and unhindered access for humanitarian services for the needy children to.
