There are cases of mass defection in the units of militants acting in the western and north-western areas, Dmitry Tymchuk, the head of the Information Resistance group, wrote on his Facebook page.

“There are a growing number of deserters from the units of militants operating in the western and north-western directions ("1st army corps of DPR"). Commandant's offices in the rear settlements of the "DPR" and "LPR" (Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics), were instructed to intensify the searching and catching deserters and those "evading military service," Tymchuk posted.

In the city of Kadievka, the local law enforcement officers of the so-called ‘LPR’ are carrying out a large-scale operation on "search and seizure illegal firearms and ammunition kept by local population."

Under this pretext, the numerous arrests of local population have been carried out there.

“There are rumors among the locals that this operation was launched due to the ‘LPR’ leadership fears ‘that the population may seek to rebel or revolt because of their dissatisfaction with the ‘new power,’” Tymchuk said.
