The members of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People visited Ahtem Chiygoz’s parents. The Mejlis First Deputy Chairman Nariman Dzhelyal, Mejlis Deputy Chairman Ilmi Umerov, Head of the Central Election Commission of Kurultay of the Crimean Tatar People Zair Smedlyaev, as well as Zeynur Yakubov, Emine Avamileva came to congratulate the parents on the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Friday, 24 June, the dua (prayer) was held at the house of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Ahtem Chiygoz, who is accused of organizing mass disorders outside the Supreme Council of Crimea on 26 February 2014.
May, 27 the Kremlin-controlled judges with the "Supreme Court" of Crimea rejected an appeal against the decision to extend until July, 22 the detention period of Ahtem Chiygoz, Deputy Head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People.
Ahtem Chiygoz has been held in a detention center in the city of Simferopol since January 2015. He is charged under Part 1 Section 212 of the Russia’s Criminal Code ("organizing mass disorders"), which is punishable with imprisonment for 10 years.
Six persons are charged with involvement in mass riots during a rally that took place outside the Crimean Parliament on February 26, 2014. Three of them, Ahtem Chiygoz, Mustafa Degermenzhi and Ali Asanov, are being held in a Simferopol’s pre-trial detention center 1, while the other three, Eskender Kantemirov, Talyat Yunusov and Eskender Emirvaliyev, have been released on bail and are awaiting trial.
