During the meeting of the court on December 12, the prosecution submitted documents on the Ahtem Chiygoz case signed by non-existent institutions, according to the lawyer of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Nikolay Polozov.
“During today's meeting, the Prosecutor tried to submit the documents that testify to the inability to find a victim Shlyagin and a witness Arbatla, and these documents have been studied by the defence. I noticed that they are stamps with FMS, the structure, disbanded more than six months ago, and assumed that the documents were falsified. As a result, the prosecutor was forced to withdraw the motion,” according to the lawyer’s statement published on his Facebook page.
Moreover, the lawyer said that the prosecution invited a witness introduced as a "member of the People's Militia" Kolesnik who stated that he was hit on the head several times by some unknown during the rally of the Crimean Tatar people outside the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea. He also bluntly pointed out that he did not see Chiygoz on day of the rally, and got injured not once, including the head, and never applied for medical assistance. No medical certificates proving the "victim" / "witness" obtained injury on that day was not provided.
Earlier, QHA reported that Crimean "Court" extended the detention of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ahtem Chiygoz up to April 8, 2017.
