November 10, in Turkey, as well as in the countries, where the Turkish Diasporas live, the events were held for the 78th anniversary of the death of the founder and the first President of the Turkish Republic Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

Kyiv paid tribute to founder of the Turkish Republic as well. Embassy of the Republic of Turkey in Ukraine invited all the interested representatives of the Turkish Diaspora in Kyiv to the event dedicated to such an important day.

Exactly at 9:05 am - the time of the first Turkish President death – there was observed a minute of silence, followed by the national anthem performed by the representatives of the Diaspora.

Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine Yönet Can Tezel delivered his speech dedicated to Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, as well as Turkey's future and the present.

“We hope that the Republic of Turkey will continue to exist and evolve along the path defined by Atatürk. Let us make it even better. Silly events of July, 15 were directed against the ideals of Atatürk. But we can overcome all the difficulties together,” said Yönet Can Tezel.

November 10, 1938, the first President and founder of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Kemal Atatürk perished. Since then, every year on this day, exactly at 9:05 am, the Turkish nation honors the memory of Atatürk observing a minute’s silence.

Mustafa Kemal Atatürk not only initiated the establishment of the Republic, but also implemented a number of extremely important for the country reforms in the political, cultural, educational and social spheres. Due to his policy, he became the greatest authority for the Turkish nation.

Many books, articles and conferences are devoted to the life and activity of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
