South Ukrainian city of Kherson is strengthening water and air communication with Turkey.
The region has announced opening of regular Kherson-Istanbul flights and ferry crossing from Skadovsk (Kherson region) sea ports to Turkey.
“The opening of Kherson ferry crossing will promote turning the Kherson region into real logistic center of South Ukraine. It will attract foreign investment in the region that means the creations of new jobs”- head of Kherson Rayon Administration Andrey Putilov announced.
As the Kherson Department of Transport, Road Infrastructure and Communication reported, dredging works have already begun in the harbor area of Skadovsk port, South Ukrainian Kherson region.
According to the press-service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the project will promote the development of infrastructure of Kherson.
It comes months after Crimea—region where the majority of international sea ports of Ukraine were located seceded from Ukraine and was annexed by Russia.
All the international air companies, including Europe’s leading Turkish Airlines company, have suspended their work in Crimea.
