The ordeals undergoing by the Crimean Tatar people have a high meaning, because the whole Ukrainian community has realized today the meaning of the Crimean Tatar factor in Ukraine, a great love and attachment of people to their land, the Leader of the Crimean Tatars Mustafa Jemilev told a QHA correspondent after the traditional breakfast, organized by the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people on the occasion of the great Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr.
“It so happened that we have to mark the great feast of Islam outside our home. All our thoughts and prayers are with our historical homeland and compatriots. We are praying for the detainees to be released, missing people - found, and the native Crimea, of course, liberated from the invaders. So, that we could shape our destiny on our land in accordance with our traditions,” he said.
Mustafa Jemilev said that the ordeals undergoing by the Crimean Tatars people have a high sense.
“Everything has something good. The ordeals, experiencing by our people, probably have also a high meaning. They have shown the value of people, as people are revealed in extreme situations. We realized who was a traitor, and who - a patriot. We hope that in the future, after the liberation, our people will live in our national territorial autonomy, because the whole Ukrainian public understood the meaning of the Crimean Tatar factor in this country, as well as a great love and attachment of people to their land,” said Mustafa Jemilev.
It should be noted that one of the two major holidays of Islam Eid al-Fitr - festival of breaking the fast - begins after the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
Eid al-Fitr for Muslims is - first and foremost - a farewell to the blessed days of Ramadan, when every Muslim had a good opportunity to grow spiritually, to subdue passions through fasting, pious behavior and providing assistance to people in need.
Eid al-Fitr is celebrated in the first three days of Shawwal month. On the first day, Muslims around the world - having made their ablutions - put on festive clothes and rush to the mosque for morning mass prayers. After that, the faithful exchanged greetings, go on visits and invite to their festive meal.
The holiday is also marked by an extremely important religious precept: on this day, Muslims donate their Zakat-ul-Fitr to people in need.
