Thursday, March 3, Commissioner of the Ukrainian President for Crimean Tatars Affairs Refat Chubarov made the statement.

“Exactly two years ago, 3 March 2014, the Crimean Tatar activist Reshat Ametov was kidnapped in the occupied Simferopol. Bandits of the so-called "Crimean self-defense" group caught him right at the central square of Simferopol where he staged a one-man protest against the military occupation of Crimea. Reshat Ametov’s killers are still at large. At least, the occupation authorities have done nothing to catch them – quite the contrary. But it will not always be so. There will come the time for them to answer,” wrote the leader of the Crimean Tatars on his Facebook page.

It was reported earlier that on March 3, 2014, Reshat Ametov held a one-man protest against the Russian occupation of Crimea, but soon he was arrested by the "Crimean self-defense" bandits and went missing.

On March 15, the body of the activist with numerous signs of torture was found in the village of Zemlyanichnoye in Belogorodskiy region.
