Jamala, Bumbox recorded a song dedicated to Euromaidan anniversary

Ukrainian singer of Crimean Tatar origin Jamala and Ukrainian musician, frontman of Ukrainian band “Bumbox” have recorded a song “Zlyva” (Downpour),written by Dmitriy Shurov, dedicated to anniversary of Euromaidan revolution in Ukraine.

Today, November 21, marks the first mass meeting in Kyiv, which led to Euromaidan revolution and ousting of then president of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich.

The video of the song includes scenes of the Euromaidan events.

Euromaidan protests began in Ukraine on November 21, 2013, which are now called the Revolution of Dignity.

On that day, journalists and people not indifferent to the fate of the country gathered on Independence Square (Maidan Nezalezhnosti) in Kyiv to protest against the refusal by then government to sign an Association Agreement with the European Union.

Later, multi-thousand rallies spread throughout Ukraine and escalated into an armed confrontation between the government and citizens. More than a hundred people were killed in Kyiv’s riots.
