“Investigation into the murder of an Azerbaijan national, which took place at the Pushkinky outdoor market in Yalta, is personally overseen by Interior Minister, “says a letter forwarded to Head of Azerbaijan Community of Crimea by Interior Minister Sergey Abisov. Ragim Gumbatov, Head of the Azerbaijan Community of Crimea, is reported to have issued a statement to this effect.
“Please, be advised that your application has been duly considered by the Ministry’s senior officials. Following the murder of Mehdiyev Rahil Abdurahman-Ogly , which took place on July 14, 2015, and pursuant to Section 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the Investigative Committee in Yalta has initiated criminal case № 2015497068. Investigation into the murder is currently being conducted as part of the criminal case. To facilitate the soonest establishment of the whereabouts of individuals responsible for committing the murder, the investigation is overseen by senior officials of the Interior Ministry of Crimea,” says a letter written by the Minister.
The murder of an Azerbaijan national, which took place at the Pushkinky outdoor market in Yalta, has sent shockwaves through the local community and media. The Azerbaijan man got killed after putting an Armenian national to shame for stealing strawberries at the market.
