October 16, the IDPs staged a protest outside the US Embassy in Ukraine. They demanded the embassy to check spending of the money Ukraine had received from the US to help the IDPs and those who suffered as a result of the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine.
According to protesters, the place for the action - the US Embassy - was symbolic, since it was not just about the money provided by the State Department, but in general about the money provided in the framework of international support, in particular from the EU and Japan.
Also, the protesters called on the United States to pay attention to violations of legislation that provides for the rights of internally displaced persons and drew attention to the housing problems.
Earlier, the Ministry of Temporary Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons, together with the civil organization Donbas SOS and the program "Advisor on IDPs", signed a memorandum on the work of the new hotline.
