I am not gone far from Mejlis: Zair Smedlyaev

SIMFEROPOL (QHA) - Activist of the Crimean Tatar national movement, head of central election commission of Kurultay of the Crimean Tatar people and assistant to people’s deputy of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev, Zair Smedlyaev will continue to work for the benefit of Crimean Tatar people. Zair Smedlyaev shared his further work plans with the QHA news agency. “I will continue to do the work that I’ve been doing during the last five years- that is elections of local Mejlises and elections of Kurultay delegates. Elections of Kurultay delegates have already been held. Elections to local Mejlises are still ahead. Earlier I worked as head of Secretariat of Mejlis. Now, I will be directly involved in the elections,” said Smedlyaev. He noted that he will not leave his public activities. “I am not leaving my social activities. I will continue to make public statements and declarations. If I have concerns over something in our society, I will voice my point of view. I am not gone far from Mejlis. And I am not in the opposition to Mejlis”, noted Smedlyaev with a smile. As it is known, earlier Zair Smedlyaev served as head of Secretariat of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people and was a member of Mejlis and member of Presidium of Mejlis. At present, the post of head of Secretariat of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people is held by Dilyaver Akiyev.
