Commander of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko, the Chairman of "Defender of Ukraine" Servicing Cooperative Board Viktor Oleynik and the President of the "Diamond Ukraine" International Charitable Foundation Derek Pottomson signed a memorandum on partnership and cooperation on the complex housing development for servicemen of the Navy and Armed Forces and their families who arrived from the temporarily occupied Crimea and for participants of the antiterrorist operation and family members of the deceased servicemen.
“The social protection of Ukrainian navy sailors and their families is one of our top priorities. Signing of the memorandum is another step towards the realization of the goal," Vice Admiral Ihor Voronchenko said.
The principal focus of the cooperation is the creation of favorable conditions for providing military seamen and their families with housing, in particular by integrated development of land plots in the Odesa region with civil housing, transportation utility objects and social facilities.
Reference. Before the Russian invasion to the Crimea, the Ukrainian Navy included four corvettes, one frigate and a submarine and 26 auxiliary ships. A share of the fleet was redeployed from the peninsula to Odesa and Mykolaiv. About 20 Ukrainian ships are in the Crimea now.
