As part of the celebration of the Independence Day of Ukraine in Toronto, an exhibition dedicated to the Crimea was held, the member of the Coordinating Council of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars in Canada Rustem Irsai informed on Facebook.

During the festive event, representatives of the Crimean Tatar community of Canada raised $ 350 to help families of Crimean political prisoners.

"We collected a small donation of $ 350, which will contribute to supporting the children of political prisoners, and also sold souvenirs worth $ 1,000, which will be spent on our next projects, which are incredibly important for our people in the Crimea," Elvira Saale wrote on Facebook.

Earlier, at an auction in support of political prisoners in Russia and the Crimea, Ukrainians collected almost 30 thousand hryvnias.
