“Spring-2017” group of army conscripts from the annexed Crimea will be sent for the first time to serve beyond the peninsula, according to Russian mass media, referring to the information management of the Black Sea Fleet.
According to the report, on Thursday, May 25, the first military personnel of spring draft after “Crimean spring” will be dispatched for service outside the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol from the Sevastopol military commissariat.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine expressed strong protest to the Russian Federation in connection with its intention to carry out induction into military service in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea and Sevastopol.
UN General Assembly Resolution of December 19, 2016 "The Situation with Human Rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the City of Sevastopol (Ukraine)" established the fact of the occupation of Crimea and Sevastopol by the Russian Federation and urged the latter to fulfill its obligations under international humanitarian law, International mechanisms for the protection of human rights, and other legal instruments to which it is a party
In this context, a demand to cancel the conscription of citizens, residing in the temporarily occupied territory of the Crimea, was delivered.
