Today, July 27, the Language, History and Geography Department of Ankara University bids farewell to the world famous Crimean Tatar historian Halil Inaldzhik.
A funeral prayer is to be held in a mosque named after Ihsan Dogramaci at Bilkent University following a farewell ceremony due to be held at 1.00 p.m.
Tomorrow, 28 July, the Crimean Tatar Hilal Inaldzhik will be buried in Fatih Mosque in Istanbul after the burial and midday prayers. July, 26 the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Inaldzhik’s daughter - Gyunhan to express his condolences.
Reportedly, the decision to bury the famous Crimean Tatar historian in Fatih Mosque was taken on the instruction of Erdogan and the Cabinet of Ministers.
The famous Crimean Tatar historian Halil Inaldzhik passed away in Ankara at the age of 100 years. The historian lived in Turkey and died in Guven Hospital where he had been treated for a long time.
The Professor Halil Inaldzhik taught at the Turkish and foreign universities, as well as the University of Chicago. He has been recognized the best historian of the Ottoman history. Many experts in Ottoman history were taught by Inaldzhik.
