Fate of Crimean Tatars discussed in Paris

Colloquium “Crimea: the fate of peninsula” took place in National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations in Paris.

Chairman of Commission on International Affairs of the institute Mari Sibil de Vien and former French Ambassador to Ukraine, chairman of Association of Ukraine Investigations, Philippe de Suremain spoke at the colloquium.

Crimean Tatar historian, ethno-political scientist Gulnara Bekirova reported about milestones of Crimean Tatar deportation, points of political struggle for return to historical Homeland and answered numerous questions.

 Head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov told about nowadays situation in Crimea and also answered numerous questions of the audience.

Among the speakers there were also Yulia Tishenko, Izabel Facon and Jean-Sylvestre Mongrenier and others.

To be noted, Crimean Tatar movie “Haytarma”, narrating the story of Crimean Tatar deportation was also presented during the conference.
