The European Film Academy has urged Russia to release the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov.
“Oleg needs us and we need him. His courage is topical at all times. Now, even more than two years ago,” the President of the European Film Academy Agnieszka Holland said during a protest in support of the director.
At the 67th International Berlin Film Festival Ukrainian delegation presented a stand with symbols of support of the political prisoner director Oleg Sentsov in preparation for the film "Process".
Oleg Sentsov was detained by Russian occupants in the Crimea after the annexation of the peninsula for his active patriotic position. He was accused of terrorism and transported to the colony the city Kirovo-Chepetsk in the Russian Republic of Sakha, Yakutia.
