During his Umrah trip to Saudi Arabia (Umrah- minor pilgrimage to Mecca), the head of Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people met with spiritual leaders of the country. Among them were Mufti of the Al-Masjid al-Haram Mosque, head of Islamic association “The Call” Dr. Suleiman Al-Salami and other spiritual leaders, informs press service of Mejlis, reports Crimea24.

The parties discussed issues among which was the issue of radical Muslim movement and its spread in Crimea. In this regard, Dr. Suleiman Al-Salami noted that the problem lies in lack of knowledge about Muslim religion, and if have genuine understanding of Islam, people will not follow such sects. He expressed readiness to assist Crimean youth in getting religious education in Saudi Arabia.

He also showed interest in the history of Crimean Tatars and asked for more literature about their return to homeland and fight for their rights.

As reported earlier Mustafa Dzhemilev has visited Iftar (dinner during Holly month of Ramadan) that was organized by Prophet Muhammad’s direct descendant and was given gifts, among them golden sword and Quran framed in gold.
