QHA - According to the estimates of the State Statistics Service, the population in Ukraine as of July 1, 2013 is 45.469,812 people. During one month the number of residents decreased by 10,503 people, informs RBK-Ukraine.
During only 6 months of this year 234,155 people were born, while 335,685 have died. Thus the birth rate during six months is 10.4 per thousand people, the mortality rate is 14.9.
The natural population decline during January-June amounted to 101,530 people.
According to the UN forecast, if the dynamics of population decline is maintained, by 2030 the population of Ukraine will decrease to 39 million people.
As noted in the UN demographic report, Ukraine has the lowest in the world natural population growth rate.
