The event was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Ukraine Yönet Can Tezel, TİKA Coordinator in Ukraine and Crimea Haji Bayram Bolat, as well as representatives of the public organization of Meskhetian Turks in Ukraine, Turkish businessmen and public figures.
 
According to QHA correspondent, the leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, the members of the Mejlis Gayana Yuksel, Riza Shevkiev, the Adviser to the Head of the Mejlis Ismet Yuksel, and the activist Sinaver Kadyrov came to commemorate the victims of the attempted July coup in Turkey.
 
Speaking to the audience, Mustafa Dzhemilev emphasized the importance of the choice of Turkish citizens in favor of legitimate power and democracy.
“Exactly one year ago events in Turkey caused a feeling of shame and a sense of pride. Why shame? Because Turkish soldiers pointed their  weapons against statehood and power elected democratically. But a sense of pride arises since ordinary people came to the streets and stopped war criminals," Mustafa-aga said.
In turn, Haji Bayram Bolat recalled that the memory of the heroes who died heroically that night will remain in Turkey's history forever.
"Our duty is to make sure that the memory of the dead never dies. Under the leadership of the President on July 15, a desperate attempt at a coup d'état was suppressed. May Allah protect Turkey from such betrayals, and let our Turkish Republic only grow stronger!” Bolat said.
At the end of the official part, the clergy representatives read the dua in Arabic and Turkish.
 
Earlier, on Friday, a press breakfast was held in the Embassy of the Turkish Republic in Kyiv on the eve of the anniversary of the attempted coup in Turkey with the participation of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Ukraine Yönet Can Tezel, public figures, Ukrainian diplomats and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions.
 
During the breakfast, it was about an attempted coup on the night of July 15-16, 2016, organized by the terrorist movement FETÖ under the leadership of a public figure and preacher Fethullah Gülen.
 
Ambassador of Turkey to Ukraine Yönet Can Tezel recalled the chronology of the bloody events of that night and noted the heroic struggle of the Turkish people for democracy at the cost of the lives of hundreds of citizens of the country.
 
Events on the occasion of the anniversary of the mutiny in Turkey began on July 11, when citizens of the country visited the graves of the victims. The next day in the Parliament, exhibition halls of major cities and metro stations, as well as in Turkish diplomatic missions abroad, photo exhibitions opened presenting the events of a year ago.
