GEBZE (QHA) -

The holy month of Ramadan unites all Muslims. Thus, the branch of the Crimean Tatar Association of Culture and Mutual Aid in Gebze continues a tradition of collective Suhoor – a morning meal.

The Chairman of the branch Sherife Orak stressed that the Association holds Suhoor every year. It has arranged a reception hall so that the Association members and all those willing can eat this morning meal.

All food is cooked to personal orders of those willing to take part in the tradition. Thus, the atmosphere is extremely pleasant. According to Orak, the Association will continue keeping the tradition of collective Suhoor.

Ramadan - a month of obligaory fasting for Muslims during which they refrain from consuming food in the daytime. The fasting begins after the morning Azan and ends in the evening.

Suhoor - a morning meal during the holy month of Ramadan. The Muslims try to consume it early in the morning. Iftar is an evening meal consumed after the evening prayer when Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast. Suhoor and Iftar replace traditional 3-time meals during Ramadan.
