The guests from the Diaspora were met by the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov, a member of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Riza Shevkiev, Advisor to the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Ismet Yuksel and Vice-President of the World Congress of Crimean Tatars Lenur Islyamov.

Refat Chubarov told the guests about the current work of the Mejlis related to the protection the Crimean Tatars rights, as well as about the state of the Crimean Tatar people in general and the situation in Crimea. He paid special attention to the criminal cases lodged against the Crimean Tatars; the trials of the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis Ahtem Chiygoz and other members of the "February 26" cases; persecution of Muslims in the so-called "Hizb ut-Tahrir" litigation; and illegal searches of the Crimean Tatars' homes.

Eskisehir is the largest city in Turkey, where the Crimean Tatar Diaspora lives. The city has a large number of memorable places and monuments reminding the history of the Crimean Tatars.
