Crimeans will pray for successful holiday season

The upcoming holiday season will be sanctified by dipping in the sea.

Simferopol and Crimean Diocese will hold prayers for successful holiday season in Crimea on January 19, according to the Diocese website.

Metropolitan of Simferopol and Crimea Lazar (Rostislav Shvets) blessed the public prayers which will be held at Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Yalta, the Church of All Saints in Alushta, St. Nicholas Cathedral in Yevpatoria and St. Vladimir’s Cathedral in Sevastopol. According to the Diocese, church services are to be held ‘at the request of public organizations related to resorts and tourism.’

“The services will be followed by cross processions and consecration of the upcoming season by dipping in the sea,” reads the statement.
