SIMFEROPOL / AQMESCIT (QHA) -

Residents of the occupied Crimea are forced to go to the presidential elections in Russia under the threat of dismissal from work and are made to report on the vote, Crimean Human Rights Group informed on its website.

“The management of at least two large enterprises of Kerch, in which more than 100 employees work, were obliged to ensure the attendance of their subordinates for elections (without orders whom to vote for). Heads of these enterprises received verbal orders from the city administration to carry out such control. During Sunday, March 18, the management will report to the city administration several times a day about how many of their employees voted," reads the message.

In the schools of Kerch and Simferopol, the teachers at the parents' meeting carried out "explanatory work" with their parents about the need to come to the elections and "fulfill their civic duty." Parents will have to report on their attendance on Viber.

“The principal of one of the schools in Feodosia instructed the teachers to warn the parents that they should go to vote. A similar "explanatory work" with parents about mandatory participation in the elections on March 18 was instructed to be conducted by teachers in the Kirov district of Crimea," human rights activists note.

In one of the Dzhankoy schools, primary school teachers are threatened with dismissal from work in the event of failure to attend the elections.

At the same time, not only teachers of schools receive dismissal threats. The management of oil and gas company Chernomorneftegaz also threatens to fire the employees in case of their failure to attend polling stations.

“Employees of the utility service of Simferopol Vodokanal (State Unitary Enterprise “Water of the Crimea”) on the occasion of a professional holiday, were given envelopes with congratulations and an annotation that this day this year coincided with another holiday, and it is necessary to make the right choice. At the end of the congratulation text the address of the polling station of the employee is indicated,” the report said.

And one of the residents of Kerch stated that he received an SMS with an appeal to take part in the presidential elections in Russia.

QHA reported that the Head of the Russian Federation Putin postponed the election of the Russian president on March 18. This day is considered the day of annexation of the Crimea, when the Russian Federation signed the so-called agreement on the accession of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people Refat Chubarov said that the Russian occupation authorities are trying to increase the turnout in the presidential elections in the Crimea in various ways, including, from the Crimean Tatars. According to him, special services will be engaged for this.
