Russia, who annexed the Crimea, offers its residents to rent a hectare of land in the Far East. Applications for "Far East hectare" will be accepted starting from February 1, 2017.
Russia, which considers the inhabitants of the occupied Crimea its citizens, governs this opportunity with federal law No.119-FL "On the Specifics of Providing the Citizens with Land Plots, Owned by the State or Municipal Property and Located on the Territory of the Russian Federation, Included into the Far Eastern Federal District, and on the Introduction of Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation."
Starting from June 1, 2016 only the inhabitants of the Far East registered on the site can take advantage of this right, filling out an application for a land in some municipalities in the Far East region.
The contract is concluded for five years, after which the leasing can be extended by 49 years, or the land may be obtained into ownership.
At the moment, there are 2103 applications submitted, 48 land plots are expecting the owner to sign the agreement, and 32 plots are already being used.
