On September 26, 2015, outside Zelena Bucha boarding house near Kyiv, Kurban Bayrami was celebrated, press service of the Crimean Tatar Youth Center reports.
According to the organizers, the festival traditionally began with saying dua (prayer). The guests were able to taste the national Crimean Tatar dishes and take part in various competitions.
“Everyone was able to find the favorite entertainment. There were sport games (kuresh, tennis, arm wrestling, etc.), live folk music, dancing and a variety of master classes,” the organizers said.
Kurban Bayrami is one of the largest religious feasts in Islam, making the end of the Hajj (pilgrimage to Mecca). It is celebrated on the 70th days after the Uraza Bayram holiday and on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah month to commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim.
